Santiago Aguilera Scores Hat-Trick, Clovis Dismantles Hoover By Double Digits

It was too easy for Clovis High’s boys soccer team in Thursday’s match against Hoover High. Led by a hat-trick from Santiago Aguilera, the Cougars demolished Hoover 11-1. Seniors Niles West and Quennal Kempe also added two goals each in the dominating victory. Alexander Rodriguez, Anthony Hernandes, Cashton Stephens and Caleb Farmen also added a goal each.

Rodriguez posted seven assists to go along with his goal. The junior has recorded at least one assist or a goal in 10 games this season. He has a total of 10 goals and 16 assists.

Clovis improved to 14-1-2 overall. The Cougars have had several other dominating wins this season. That includes a 7-0 win against Orange Cove in the season opener, a 5-0 win against Kingsburg, a 6-1 win against Madera and an 8-0 win against Mission Oak.

Hoover remains winless on the season. The Patriots stand at 0-12-2. Thursday’s loss against Clovis marked the second-straight double digit defeat for Hoover, who lost 10-0 against Fresno High on Dec. 21.
