Edison’s Aidan Ransom and Elijah Williams were in shock when they saw their dream come true on Saturday.
“We’re going to state? We’re going to state?” the duo said to each other after finishing second and fourth in the 800-meter run at the Central Section Masters Championships to qualify for the state meet.
The top finishers in the 800-meter run were: Noah Ray (Buchanan, 1:52.54), Ransom (1:52.88), Zach Weaver (Buchanan, 1:53.00), Williams (1:53.40), Monte Moore (Monache, 1:54.52).
Both Ransom and Williams also broke a 34-year-old school record in the 800-meter run.

Jermaine Schexnayder Goes To New Heights
Fresno High’s Jermaine Schexnayder cleared 6-05.00 to take first place in the high jump at the Masters. Central’s Kamoni Reams finished second (6-03.00).

Riley Allen Takes The Double
Righetti’s Riley Allen was the star of the show at the Masters. Allen took first in the 100-meter race (11.92) and first in the 200-meter (24.88).
The other top finishers in the 100 were: Natalia Carrillo, Frontier, 12.11; 3 and Shaniya Randolph, Bullard, 12.13.
