McLane senior Cedric Hughes is making a habit of posting double doubles. Hughes recorded his sixth double double of the season on Thursday, finishing with 22 points and 11 rebounds to help McLane defeat Torres 68-59. The Highlanders, who took down Fresno High 59-44 in the previous game on Tuesday, improved to 2-0 in league play.
McLane senior James Brown also added 22 points in the win against Torres. The Highlanders came back home this week after a trip to the Central Coast, where they defeated Paso Robles 71-51. Hughes nearly had a triple double against Paso Robles. He finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and nine and assists. Brown added 25 points in the win. Sophomore Demetrius Simon also had a strong all-around game against Paso Robles: 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
