Baseball: Aiden Medina Shines At The Plate And On The Mound, Hoover Dominates McLane

A strong all-around performance from senior Aiden Medina led the Hoover Patriots to a 16-1 win against McLane on Tuesday. Medina got it done at the plate and on the mound. The senior pitched six innings, allowing three hits and striking four batters. He also recorded two hits to go along with three RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Hoover jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning against McLane and continued to pile it on. The Patriots exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning to officially shut the door on McLane.

Hoover received big contributions from a handful of players who stepped up to the plate. Sophomore Robert Herrera recorded two runs, two hits, two RBI and a double. Senior Caleb Bosquez-Jiminez finished with two runs, two hits and an RBI.

Hoover (8-5) is in the midst of an intense race in the North Yosemite League. While Fresno High (12-1) already clinched the league, Sunnyside, Hoover, Matilda Torres and Sanger West are currently fighting for second with an identical record.

Hoover will finish the regular season with a road game against McLane on Friday.
