By May 8, 2024Uncategorized

The Sanger Apaches started fast and never slowed down as they traveled to Edison on Tuesday for a decisive victory. Sanger jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first two innings and tacked on nine more for insurance in the fourth to complete the 18-0 victory against the Tigers.

On the mound, there was no problem at all for sophomore Emma Hernandez. The rising star continued to dominate as she has been all season. Hernandez pitched in all five innings on Tuesday and allowed only three hits while striking out eight batters. Hernandez also scored two runs with one hit and two RBI.

Senior Jayden Herrera was unstoppable at the plate. Herrera filled the stat sheet with five RBI, two runs, two hits and a double. Of course she had plenty of help from her teammates as well. Senior Alyssa Martinez, along with sophomores Arianah Cardoso and Audrey Ortiz, as well as freshman Samantha Guerra scored three runs each. Junior Sierra Wyrick added two runs as well.

Sanger (7-2) is looking to hold on to second place in the CMAC. Bullard (9-0) has clinched the league title. Madera (6-3) is in third.

Sanger will finish the regular season with a home game against Madera on Friday.
